Weight Optimization of ARB using Genetic Algorithm and FEA
This paper presents a procedure and a software application to optimize the weight of an antiroll bar using a genetic algorithm and the finite element analysis. The paper describes the optimization technique, and fitness evaluation. The results obtained by optimizing a problem to show the procedure efficiency. The bars are encoded in chromosomes using an original technique that allows the optimization of weight. The objective of the optimization is the total mass of the structure, applied to stress and displacement constraints using an original function. Stress and displacement analysis is performed using the finite element analysis.
