Investigation of Powder Added Electrical Discharge Machining of Hastelloy
Abstract
In the present paper, the investigation has been made to optimize the process parameters of powder added EDM of HASTELLOY. Taguchi technique has been used to plan and analyze the experiments. Experiments are conducted on newly designed experimental setup developed on the laboratory. Discharge current, pulse on time, pulse off time and powder concentration added into the dielectric fluid of EDM were chosen as variable to study the output parameters such as material removal rate(MRR) and tool wear rate (TWR). Experimental results revealed that, MRR at optimum condition A3B3C3D2 and TWR is lower at optimum condition A1B1C3D3
